HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) says people in at least three Central PA counties may have been exposed to an out-of-state visitor who was contagious with measles.
The individual visited establishments in Adams, Clearfield, Lancaster, and York Counties, according to a press release from the department. They were in Pennsylvania between Aug. 4 and Aug. 12.
Officials with the DOH said the person went to these places:
- Sapp Bros. Travel Center, 15196 Clearfield Shawville Highway, Clearfield, PA 16830; August 5, 2025, between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
- Farmhouse Restaurant at the Barn Resort, 75 Cunningham Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325; August 7, 2025, between 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
- Hickory Falls Entertainment Center, 110 Hickory Lane, Hanover, PA 17331; August 7, 2025, between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
- Midway Mennonite Reception Center; 210 E Lexington Rd., Lititz, PA 17543; August 8 and 9, 2025, all day.
- Garber Mennonite Fellowship, 6082 Old Hanover Road, Spring Grove, PA 17632; August 10, 2025, between 8:30 AM and two hours after the conclusion of services.
The Department said it has notified the businesses of the potential exposure.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the symptoms of measles start with fever, runny nose, and red, watery eyes. Those are followed by a rash that starts on the head and spreads down. Doctors say the symptoms can appear 7 to 21 days after exposure.
The Department of Health says if you are experiencing symptoms or if you think you were exposed to contact your health provider or call the toll free hotline 877-PA-HEALTH.
