An actor known for his roles on hit shows like “Nip/Tuck” and “Blue Bloods” was recently involved in a serious car accident on the Jersey Shore.
Dylan Walsh, 61, and four family members were in an an accident on Sunday in Rumson, TMZ reported.
According to Patch, the accident occurred when a 2022 Ford Explorer collided into two utility poles along East River Road. The vehicle, which was traveling north, veered into the southbound lane just before the wreck, according to reports.
Rumson Police Lt. Christopher Isherwood told Patch two passengers were taken to Riverview Medical Center with complaints of pain following the crash.
The area was closed until Tuesday while Jersey Central Power & Light crews tended to the damaged utility poles which caused power outages in several nearby homes.
The incident is currently being investigated.
“Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home,” a representative for Walsh told People. “The family is deeply grateful for the swift response of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS, as well as the staff at Riverview Medical Center for their care.”
The actor’s wife, Leslie Bourque-Walsh, opened up about the accident in a Facebook post Monday.
“Last night our family was in a pretty bad car accident. We are all ok and that is all I will share now, except please wear seatbelts and have air bags in your vehicles,” the post read. “We are also thankful for the 1st responders and all who helped us.”
Walsh is best known for his role as plastic surgeon Dr. Sean McNamara on FX’s “Nip/Tuck,” which he played for six seasons from 2003 to 2010. Some of his other notable roles came in series like “Blue Bloods,” “Unforgettable,” and “Superman & Lois.”
