A new claim has emerged regarding Alexander Isak’s relationship with Newcastle, on a day that has also seen the Reds suffer an injury blow.

Talk surrounding Isak’s future remains ongoing, but for now, it feels increasingly likely that he will stay put this summer.
Now, the Daily Mail‘s Dominic King and Lewis Steele report that the Swede was “under the impression that a bid of £100 million or more” would see Newcastle allow him to leave.
For that reason, Isak now feels let down by the club, as he alluded to in the explosive statement that he released on Tuesday, in which he said “promises were made” to him.
It is a messy situation that is only threatening to get worse, but Newcastle are showing no sign of budging.
A second Liverpool offer – one that is significantly more than the £110 million bid they have already seen rejected – may be the next port of call.
On the plus side, the Express & Star report that Newcastle are pushing to sign £60 million-rated Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, in a potential boost for the Reds.
