Kelly Clarkson is taking time away from The Voice to mourn the loss of her ex-husband, who died of cancer.
Brandon Blackstock died earlier this month of natural causes as a result of melanoma, a form of skin cancer. Natural causes were cited as the manner of death.
According to The U.S. Sun, Clarkson will miss several episodes of season 29 of the popular reality show.
“Kelly will not be at the tapings scheduled next week for Thursday and Friday,” an insider told “The U.S. Sun.”
“Production is working on a replacement coach for her now.”
The NBC series was filming “The Voice: Battle of Champions,” with Clarkson and coaches John Legend and Adam Levine.
Blackstock died earlier this month at the age of 48.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” a representative for the family said at the time.
“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
