Currently one of the most talked-about free agents in professional wrestling, Karrion Kross has released a new entrance theme and music video titled “Don’t Kross A Killer”. The song, from the artist NOWHERE2RUN, was posted on Kross’s personal YouTube channel and appears to be a direct statement on his recent WWE career and subsequent departure from the company. Lyrics Address WWE Run
The song’s lyrics seem to directly reference Kross’s time in WWE and the creative direction of his character. Lines such as, “From Hunter To A Pawn,” and “Tried To Turn You To A Reject / Said The Shine Had Been Lost,” allude to a perceived change in his status within the company. The chorus, “Don’t Cross A Killer,” and the line, “A Man Stripped Down To His Essence / Isn’t One You Wanna Cross,” suggest a return to a more menacing persona, which many fans felt was diminished during his main roster run.
A Statement on the Future
Other lyrics in the song project a message of determination and forward momentum for his post-WWE career. The lines, “There’s Nothing But Pavement In Front Of Me,” and “And Until Your Face Down In Front Of Me / I’ll Never Be What I’m Gonna Be,” indicate a focus on his future ambitions. The song concludes with a definitive statement of rebirth: “My Wings Have Finally Grown / Now I Know That I Can’t Fall”.
The release of the new theme comes just one week after Kross’s WWE contract expired on August 10, making him a free agent. The unusual nature of his departure has led to widespread speculation that his free agency is an elaborate storyline, but Kross has publicly insisted that the situation is legitimate.
The song is available for purchase on the NOWHERE2RUN Bandcamp page. The description under the YouTube video also notes that the music video was shot at “Bank on 8th in Homestead, PA”.
