Last Sunday’s matchup between Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever and Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings drew an average of 2.1 million viewers and hit a peak of 2.5 million viewers, making it the fourth-most watched WNBA game to ever air on ABC.
This was a battle between the two most recent top WNBA draft picks in Clark (2024) and Bueckers (2025), with the former player especially attracting great attention to the league.
Bueckers is a superstar in her own right, especially after entering the league on the heels of leading UConn to a national title.
Over 17 pro games, Bueckers is averaging 18.3 points, 5.4 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 steals.
She is a near-lock to win the Rookie of the Year award, although she could have some competition from the Washington Mystics duo of Kiki Iriafen and Sonia Citron.
Bueckers will also be starting in the All-Star Game.
As for Clark, the former Iowa star won Rookie of the Year, made the All-Star team and earned a spot on the All-WNBA First Team last season. She was voted in as a WNBA All-Star captain this year.

As for the aforementioned game, the Fever earned a 102-83 victory to move to 11-10 on the year. Clark posted 14 points, 13 assists and five steals, while Bueckers led all scorers with 21 points alongside four assists, four rebounds and two steals.
