5 players to watch in Bills at Bears

Preseason game number two offers the Bills coaching staff another opportunity to evaluate not only individual skill sets, but a player’s situational awareness. Sunday night’s matchup with Chicago is an important opportunity for several Bills players. But here are five to keep your eye on this evening.

1 – S Cole Bishop

The second-year safety returned from a quad injury this week, so his reps might be managed to some degree tonight. But Bishop, who has missed valuable time on the field for the second consecutive summer, needs to show he has a good on-field rapport with fellow safety Taylor Rapp. He also has to demonstrate the ability to disguise and anticipate what’s coming to make plays on the ball in the passing game.

2 – DE Michael Hoecht

The edge rusher has come on in the past week and been a noticeable factor in Buffalo’s pass rush including Friday’s joint practice. The free agent addition needs to carry that momentum into tonight’s game knowing his time on the field will be interrupted once the team reaches the regular season.
