There are two things just about any baseball fan nationally knows about Cal Raleigh at this point: He hits a lot of home runs and he has, well, a large backside.

Raleigh has risen to national prominence during a record-setting campaign in the batter’s box, which includes a Home Run Derby title. And his Big Dumper nickname has caught on with all of those who weren’t as aware of him as fans in the Pacific Northwest before this season.
Raleigh has embraced his nickname and, of course, the home runs. He paid homage to both with a very fitting slogan on his bats MLB Players’ Weekend.
With a background of Mariners navy blue and a trident running from handle to barrel, Raleigh’s bat reads: “Big butt… even BIGGER BOMBS!” below his signature and number.

Raleigh ended up putting the new bats to good use Friday night against the Mets, clubbing his MLB-leading 46th home run of the season in the top of the third inning. The two-run shot put the Mariners up 4-3.
Raleigh is just two home runs shy of Salvador Perez’s MLB record for catchers, eight shy of Mickey Mantle’s record for switch-hitters and 10 behind Ken Griffey Jr’s Mariners record. Seattle’s backstop also has a shot to reach Aaron Judge’s AL record of 62 home runs.
