Emily Blunt Rocks Unexpected Hair Color for ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’

Well, this was certainly unexpected. The entire internet has been watching the filming of The Devil Wears Prada 2 unfold on the streets of New York City via paparazzi photos this summer. Anne Hathaway has stepped back into Andy’s shoes, rocking a series of chic menswear-inspired looks as she dashes around looking mildly stresses. Meryl Streep has brought back Miranda, complete with sleek silver bob and quietly luxurious silk wardrobe. Stanley Tucci, Simone Ashley, Sydney Sweeney, and Ciara have all been spotted, too. We’ve also seen Emily Blunt reprising her role as Emily, Miranda’s neurotic, career-driven assistant—and in the first photos, she had her signature bright red hair. As expected. Well, prepare for a shock, because apparently, Blunt is also going to have a bleach blonde moment in the film.

On the set of the sequel on August 14, Blunt rocked a dramatic new look: an icy white-blonde lob with dark roots. She paired the new ‘do with a striped red-and-black sweater, a tie, a black miniskirt, sheer tights, slim black shades, and a bright red lip.

Blunt previously debuted another hair transformation for the role—after rocking darker auburn hair, she went fire engine red to step back into Emily’s shoes.

While not much is known about why Emily has this dramatic icy blonde moment, it’s safe to say that Blunt is having loads of fun playing her again—in all of her hair colors. Back in 2022, before the sequel was confirmed, Blunt said in an interview on The View that she “would do [a sequel] in a heartbeat just to play with those guys again.”
