Today’s Aries moon gives you the energy and drive to initiate projects and connect with new people (or reconnect with old friends); more generally, you’ll feel full of life and vitality. The day could get off to a slow start, as the moon squares off with Venus in quiet Cancer, but by the time it teams up with the Leo sun in the evening, the momentum should pick up and exciting disruptions could reinvigorate you.

You might feel oddly unappreciated today, even if you’re going above and beyond. It’s frustrating to feel like your extraordinary efforts aren’t being encouraged or even noticed — but while it might feel like nobody cares, that’s probably not actually the case. Instead, there’s a good chance that people simply don’t understand the level of effort you’ve put in, because you make it all look easy. You might benefit from reminding the people around you that you’re getting great results not through sheer luck, but through hard work, too.

In your ideal world, you’d be able to progress steadily toward your goals, with no interruptions or distractions. But that’s rarely how life really works; people’s paths tend to be nonlinear and surprising. Today, remind yourself that you don’t have to be constantly advancing: There’s no shame in taking time off, changing your mind, even occasionally taking a few steps backward. Removing the pressure to always be optimizing can make life much more enjoyable, and sometimes it’s the best way to position yourself for your next move.

When your friends seem unhappy, it’s hard for you to sit idly by — you want to help. Today, especially, it could be tempting to try to fix everyone else’s issues for them, sharing your many opinions and brainstorming solutions. But try not to automatically enter problem-solving mode; no matter how smart your advice is, your friends might not want to hear it. For now, listening and asking thoughtful questions, rather than rushing in with your own take, is the best way to support the people you care about.

On your more pessimistic days, you start to imagine that most people are irredeemably selfish. Everyone seems stingy and self-centered, and nobody appears to actually care that much about other people. But the truth is that there are plenty of people who care just as much as you do; they just might not call much attention to themselves. Don’t get sucked into a false narrative that everyone is only out for their own interests: If you treat people with generosity and kindness today, you’ll attract others who share your values, and it’ll help you to feel less alone.

Some people act like it’s easy to make unconventional, potentially unpopular, choices — but you know that it’s rarely that simple. The blowback for doing things differently than others can be intense, and you’re not willing to damage important bonds for the sake of a fleeting whim. Today, though, could be a good time to prioritize your intuition, even if it goes against others’ expectations. You’ve got the courage to take risks, and the clarity to see that true friends want you to be happy more than they want you to follow along with the crowd.

As you grow older, more knowledgeable, and sophisticated, it can be easy to look at past versions of yourself with embarrassment, even contempt. It feels shameful to have ever been so naïve or uninformed or simply uncool. But today, make an effort to be a little kinder to yourself. Remember that you’re still not done changing, and hopefully your future self will be even wiser. The point isn’t to have been perfect all along, but to learn and grow along the way.

If you’re feeling stuck, unsure of what to do next, long, wandering conversations with friends can help. It won’t work, though, if you don’t genuinely trust and appreciate each other’s perspective: If you’re too focused on being polite and making a good impression, the discussion will never go anywhere interesting. If you’re feeling antagonistic, you’ll only end up arguing fruitlessly. For now, at least, prioritize the people who’ve shown you they can ask questions, and even disagree with you, in ways that broaden your thinking.

Most of the time, you have tremendous faith in your ability to make plans and carry them out. You’ve proved time and time again that you’re capable and strong — but even so, you forget occasionally. After a couple of bad days, or a few unlucky breaks, you start to doubt your ability to make any meaningful progress. Today, the best thing you can do is get out there and keep trying anyway. Soon enough, things will start to go your way again, as long as you don’t give up.

It sometimes feels like everybody wants you to be someone you’re not. The qualities you like best in yourself — adventurousness, boldness, roving curiosity — seem to be those that others often find to be “too much” and ask that you tone down. Every so often, you might wonder whether they have a point, but today, stay firm. You have a responsibility to be considerate of others, but not to bottle up your personality in the process.

Personal growth tends to happen slowly. You continually encounter small challenges, gradually becoming wiser, more capable, more compassionate with each one you overcome. Sometimes, though, you grow impatient with how long it all seems to take; instead of pushing your limits a bit at a time, you wish you could speed up the process by taking on lots of big challenges at once. Today, though, resist the impulse to take on more than you can handle. Pushing far beyond your current abilities will set you up for burnout; stick to the slow and steady route for now.

Once you set a goal, you tend to pursue it with single-minded determination. It’s not necessarily about pursuing traditional markers of success — whether your dreams are totally conventional or idiosyncratic, you know how to stick to your plans and push past anything that gets in the way. Today, though, try to set aside your expectations of productivity, because the detours and distractions might be especially enlightening or inspiring. Remember that material results don’t define success; sometimes, interesting experiences are all you take away, and that’s okay.

Sometimes, you make decisions based solely on risk. Everything feels uncertain enough as it is; you want to steer clear of anything that might bring additional drama into your life. But while prioritizing stability is reasonable enough, make sure today that you’re not only considering the possible downsides, but also the things you stand to gain. Running away at the first hint of danger will end up making your life small and a bit boring; some risks are worth taking.
