We haven’t seen Roman Reigns for a number of months, since the night after WrestleMania 41, but with SummerSlam just a few weeks away from taking over MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Reports indicated he is in the plans for that show, so surely he would be back sooner rather than later.
Sure enough, he made his return on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Alabama, closing out the show with a bang.
CM Punk had just defeated Bron Breakker in the last leg of the Gauntlet match to determine who would challenge GUNTHER for the world heavyweight championship at SummerSlam. Bronson Reed launched a post-match attack that Jey Uso ran in to get involved with the bad guys were getting the upper hand.
That’s when Reigns made his presence felt.
He ran in, made the save, and then helped Jey to his feet. They’re doing just fine now. He even played nice with Punk, who he had issues with prior. As rumored, they were also referring to him as Tribal Chief One.
Either way, he’s back and it sure looks like Breakker vs. Reigns could be in play for one of the biggest shows of the year.
