Naomi Not Medically Cleared, Women’s World Title Match On WWE Raw Canceled

Just hours before the broadcast of Monday Night Raw, WWE has announced that the new Women’s World Champion, Naomi, is not medically cleared to compete. As a result, her scheduled championship match against IYO SKY has been pulled from tonight’s show.

The company released a brief statement confirming the change to tonight’s card and promising more details during the broadcast. “‘Naomi is not medically cleared to compete and therefore her scheduled match against Iyo Sky will not take place tonight on Monday Night Raw,’ the company stated. ‘Tune into tonight for continuing coverage on this developing story’”.

The news comes just nine days after Naomi defended the Women’s World Championship at SummerSlam in a triple threat match against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. Tonight’s scheduled bout was set to be IYO SKY’s one-on-one rematch for the title.

Nature of Injury Unknown

As of this writing, WWE has not disclosed the nature or severity of the issue that has prevented Naomi from being medically cleared.

As stated in their announcement, WWE will provide further updates on Naomi’s condition and the status of the Women’s World Championship during tonight’s broadcast of Monday Night Raw. It remains to be seen if the title will be vacated or if a new number one contender will be determined while the champion is sidelined. Best wishes to her on her recovery, whether it’s a serious or a minor injury.
