Even when your dreams are coming true as fast as you can dream them, sometimes you’ve just got to pump the brakes.
For Ella Langley, the Hope Hull native who has enjoyed a rocket ride to country music stardom over the last year, this appears to be one of those times. She posted a message Monday morning on Instagram saying she had to take some time off to take care of herself – “mind, body and heart.”
The message, in full:
“I’m so sad to be posting this. The past several weeks have been tough. I’ve been fighting sickness and feeling more run down than ever. After a lot of thought, I’ve made the hard decision to take a couple of weeks to rest and focus on my health – mind, body and heart. I want to be fully present for all the moments ahead, and I know I can’t do that without first taking care of myself.
Sometimes we have to listen when our bodies and hearts are telling us to slow down. I’m so grateful for your understanding and your love – it truly means the world to me.
‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28”
The message went on to say she would miss shows with Morgan Wallen on Aug. 15 and 16; an Aug. 19 appearance at The Listening Room in Nashville; as a guest on Morgan Wallen’s tour, and on Aug. 21, 22, 23 and 25 with fellow Alabama star Riley Green in Montana, Idaho and Colorado.
“I’ll be back on the road in September, ready to give you my all,” Langley promised.
Langley’s 2024 album “Hungover” turned into an award-winning blockbuster, thanks in part to her Riley Green duet “You Look Like You Love Me.” While still touring in support of the new album, she has been creating new music: In late June she released the single “Never Met Anyone Like You,” a collaboration with Hardy, and last week she shared a snippet of “Hell at Night,” an upcoming single with Texas rapper BigXthaPlug.
