When silicon-carbon battery technology first started getting adopted, it was refreshing to see that capacities in the 6,000mAh to 6,500mAh range became commonplace in mobile phones. Fortunately, the increments did not stop there, with some manufacturers experimenting with products shipping with massive 7,000mAh and even 7,500mAh batteries. Unfortunately, before you get excited that the smartphone in question will be a flagship, the tipster mentions in the post below that it will be a mid-ranger because it will be equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500. Based on specification details, the Dimensity 8500 will be mass-produced on TSMC’s 4nm N4P process and will sport eight Cortex-A725 cores, plus a Mali-G720 GPU. Additionally, the rumor mentions that the product is in the NPI, or ‘New Product Introduction’ phase, meaning that the device is currently in the concept stages, and it will take some time to materialize.
This crucial detail suggests that HONOR might not stick with the 10,000mAh battery capacity mentioned in the rumor, but we will keep our fingers crossed. Also, the inclusion of a chipset like the Dimensity 8500 instead of the flagship Dimensity 9500 hints that there will be a few more compromises that customers will eventually come across, such as increased thickness, fewer cameras, a lower-tier display, and other cost-cutting measures.
