ASUS has announced the availability of two of its newest high-end WOLED gaming monitors that offer dual modes for enthusiasts.
ASUS Officially Launches ROG Strix XG32UCWMG and XG32UCWG, Bringing 4K and FHD Resolutions On WOLED Panels
The popular hardware and peripheral manufacturer, ASUS, has released two new high-end gaming monitors in its OLED lineup, bringing the world’s first 4K WOLED gaming displays with high refresh rates. Both monitors offer dual mode configuration, offering 4K and FHD resolutions, which can be switched to either mode through “one-tap”. A lot of monitors nowadays are being equipped with dual mode configuration, but these might be the first 4K WOLED models to have it.
These monitors offer a premium gaming experience through the use of WOLED panels, which provide deeper blacks in well-lit environments. The first model, ROG Strix XG32UCWMG, offers incredible specifications, delivering up to 240Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution and up to 480Hz at 1080p. This enables the monitor to deliver smooth gaming visuals at various resolutions, keeping great visual quality while retaining a competitive edge.
The second monitor, ROG Strix XG32UCWG, is a cheaper alternative, which brings the same 31.5″ screen size and WOLED panel with both 4K and 1080p modes. However, this monitor works at up to 165Hz refresh rate at 4k and up to 330Hz at FHD. Still excellent for competitive and immersive gameplay, the XG32UCWG is one of the world’s first WOLED monitors that bring excellent color reproduction and color accuracy with Delta E < 2. Both monitors support HDR10 modes and deliver true 10-bit color depth for high visual fidelity.
Both monitors have most of their specifications identical, as well as identical appearance, offering thin bezels and ergonomic stands that allow various adjustments. Through the usage of TrueBlack Glossy film, these monitors easily maintain better blacks and offer matte-like glare suppression, which further enhances the clarity. ASUS says these monitors have a 45% smaller footprint compared to their predecessors, taking up less space on the desk, but still retain the highly versatile ergonomics.
Other features include DisplayWidget Center software for customized modes, Auto KVM feature for quick switching between connected devices with a single keyboard and mouse setup. For connectivity, there are the latest HDMI 2.1 ports, but unfortunately, the DP ports are still version 1.4. A single USB-C with DP Alt mode is also available, and a dedicated USB Hub with three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports for connecting peripherals.
As far as pricing is concerned, there is no official word on it yet, but we can expect the price reveal soon.
