Here’s what happened with Cody Rhodes after WWE SmackDown went off the air, following Drew McIntyre’s brutal attack.

The August 8 show marked Cody Rhodes’ first SmackDown appearance since winning the WWE Championship from John Cena at SummerSlam.

The night didn’t end the way Rhodes had hoped, with things going awry for the champion following the show’s main event.

Rhodes teamed with John Cena in the final match of the show, facing off against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre in a match which ended via disqualification after Paul hit Cena with a low blow.

With the four stars continuing their brawl after the match, McIntyre hit Rhodes with the WWE Title belt and hit him with a Claymore kick against the announcers table.

The show went off the air with McIntyre standing tall over Rhodes, and we now know what happened with both stars following this moment.

Drew McIntyre shared a video to Twitter showing him walking to the back following this beatdown. During the clip, McIntyre tells the camera:

“Every time, I told Cody right to his face, I want him to win, I need him to win, then I’m gonna beat him and that title belongs to me. How f**king hard is it to listen?”

Fan footage has revealed what happened with Cody Rhodes, which you can view below.

In the footage, a number of officials help Cody Rhodes up, and support him as he exits through the crowd.

The crowd chants for Cody Rhodes ahead of Bayley making her entrance for a dark match.

It has now been confirmed that John Cena will face Logan Paul at WWE Clash In Paris.
