Anthony Hernandez sent a message to the entire UFC middleweight division as he broke Roman Dolidze was a dominant performance in the main event of UFC Vegas 109.
“Fluffy” took complete control of the fight early, and just toyed with Dolidze before eventually putting him away with a nasty rear-naked choke to earn his eighth straight victory. With Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev fighting for the middleweight title in the main event of UFC 319 next Saturday in Chicago, Hernandez couldn’t have timed the performance of his career better.
In fact, analyst Din Thomas called Hernandez’s performance the best in the middleweight division in the “past three years.”
Dolidze was in so much trouble throughout the fight that he grabbed the fence five times, and eventually referee Herb Dean took a point from Dolidze. Seconds later, the fight was over after Dolidze tapped.
UFC pros were blown away with Hernandez’s performance, and gave their reactions on social media.
