John Leguizamo slams ‘moron’ Dean Cain for volunteering to join ICE

  • John Leguizamo blasted Lois & Clark star Dean Cain for saying he wanted to volunteer as an ICE agent.
  • Leguizamo called Cain a “moron” and joked that his pronouns are “has/been.”
  • Glee star Kevin McHale and comedian Margaret Cho also slammed Cain over his support for ICE.

John Leguizamo has no patience for Dean Cain‘s immigration politics.

The Super Mario Bros. star blasted the Lois & Clark actor after Cain told Fox News this week that he intended to join ICE.

“What kind of loser volunteers to be an ICE officer?” Leguizamo said in a video on Instagram. “What a moron. Dean Cain, your pronouns are has/been.”

In the caption of his video, Leguizamo wrote, “#DeanCain volunteered to be an ICE agent! I got one word for you: LOSER!”

Frank Grillo, who co-starred with Leguizamo in 2017’s The Crash and plays a supporting role in James Gunn‘s new Superman — which Cain recently criticized as “woke” — added his own jab in the comments, writing, “‘Never was.’ Hahahahha.”

Other celebrities have called out Cain, who has been sworn in as a reserve deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer, over his promotion of ICE.

Glee star Kevin McHale said Cain’s ICE ambitions are nothing more than a publicity stunt. “Look, I know the entertainment business is in shambles, but imagine being so out of work and desperate for attention (I would know) that you join ICE?” he wrote on X on Thursday. “F—ing pathetic loser.”

Comedian Margaret Cho also questioned Cain’s support of ICE given his Japanese heritage. “Why would you join ICE and encourage people to join ICE when your ancestors were interred in World War II?” Cho asked in an Instagram video. (Cain’s father was Japanese American, and the actor has stated that his family was interred at the Minidoka internment camp in the 1940s.)

“You’re Japanese. You’re not even white,” Cho continued. (Cain’s mother is of European descent.) “You’re not white. I know you, and you are not white. You have never been white. And no matter how many of these white activities that you participate in, [it] is never gonna make that happen. You’re never gonna be white, no matter how racist you are, no matter how wrong you act.”

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Cain’s representatives for comment.

Cain is also a longtime supporter of President Trump. “I love President Trump. I’ve been friends with him forever,” the actor told Variety last month. “Trump is actually one of the most empathetic, wonderful, generous people you’ll ever meet.”

Leguizamo, on the other hand, is a vocal critic of Trump and Republican politics. On the same day that he insulted Cain, the Ice Age star posted another video condemning the Trump administration for its efforts to dismantle DEI and affirmative action efforts.

“If they’re trying to make the playing field fair, then you’re going to Texas and gerrymandering the power of Latinos, who are 40 percent of the population of Texas?” Leguizamo asked. “How is that fair if you’re giving our power to white people, huh? And then you took this land from Native Americans and genocided them, so shouldn’t you give the land back if you’re trying to make everything fair?”
