Taylor Swift might not play football, but her name has now become synonymous with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ever since Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce began dating, Swifties have been buying Chiefs merch and stalking whether or not she’d be in attendance at every home game. And now? People think she might become a Chiefs co-owner!
Is Taylor Swift buying the Kansas City Chiefs?
Despite what you might have read online, Taylor Swift is not buying into the Kansas City Chiefs anytime soon.
Swift started dating Kelce in the fall of 2023, and since then, the musical icon’s name has been nonstop talk in sports media. People have even speculated that the NFL is fixing football games because of Swift.
So, when more rumours started spreading that Swift could possibly invest in the Kansas City Chiefs, it didn’t seem like an idea that was that far off. Especially given that Swift has a net worth of $1.6 billion.
In recent years, celebrities have made massive investments in sports teams. Such as Michael B. Jordan purchasing a stake in AFC Bournemouth and Ryan Reynolds buying Wrexham AFC with actor Rob Mac. So, the idea of Taylor Swift investing in the Kansas City Chiefs seemed incredibly believable.
Even NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said, via Albert Breer, posted on X “If she’s interested, I think she has the ability to do it.”
Goodell also commented on Swift and Kelce’s relationship, “They’re happy. They seem to be enjoying their relationship and it’s great. It has connected more fans of Taylor’s and more fans of the NFL to see that they have a connection to our game. She’s an unbelievable artist, Travis is an unbelievable player and I think it’s great for the league.”
However, there has been no official word or sign that Taylor Swift is investing in the Kansas City Chiefs, so right now it looks like she’ll stick to cheering on her boyfriend from the sidelines, and hopefully penning another album. Or finally releasing Reputation: Taylor’s Version!
