‘South Park’ Savages Kristi Noem and Trump Admin’s ICE Policies

Instead of South Park backing down after its Season 27 premiere featured President Donald Trump with a micropenis and cuddled up next to Satan, the satirical cartoon doubled down in its scathing critique of the Trump administration on Wednesday night’s ICE-themed episode.

Titled “Got a Nut,” the episode sets its sights on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and the agency’s mass hiring effort in order to meet the White House’s controversial goal to deport as many migrants as possible from the United States.

Portrayed as an “ICE Barbie” with melting Botox, Noem guns down puppies in the street, from her bathtub, and even while carrying out a raid at a family-friendly Dora the Explorer Live! performance where Dora and Diego are handcuffed and led into dark vans. Noem even instructs her “soldiers” to carry out raids in heaven, questioning people of color on how they got past the pearly white gates.

The episode revolves around South Park elementary school counselor Mr. Mackey, who finds himself detaining some of the Dora audience members after joining ICE following his layoff from the school. At first uneasy about joining, he eventually caves when he learns about the agency’s six-figure salary and $50,000 sign-on bonus.

He briefly watches an ICE recruitment ad where sweaty men, emo teens, keyboard warriors, and psych-ward patients are automatically given uniforms and guns. A jingle plays in the background, saying, “We don’t ask for experience, just show up. We don’t care if you read a book or a grown-up. If you’re crazy or fat and lazy, we don’t care at all! If you need a job, it’s a job to have.”

Mackey only has to show up to the messy field office before he’s given a job, handed an automatic weapon, and loaded into a van to carry out his first raid. But first, he and the other new recruits watch an introductory video from a glammed-up Noem, who attempts to offer them encouraging words of advice. “A few years ago, I had to put my puppy down by shooting it in the face, because sometimes doing what’s important means doing what’s hard,” she says.

Later, as a reward for being a stand-out officer, Mackey is taken to meet Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Vice President J.D. Vance tags along, depicted as Trump’s Dr. Evil Mini-Me-size sidekick. While Trump gives Mackey a tour of the grounds, including his bedroom where Satan is waiting in bed, Vance runs in with a bottle of baby oil. “Would you like me to apply the baby oil to Satan’s asshole, boss?” he asks.

The episode is already on the White House’s radar. On Tuesday, DHS used a still photo of South Park ICE agents and encouraged people to apply to the agency online. In a statement to The Hill, a DHS spokesperson said they wanted to thank the Comedy Central show for “drawing attention” to their recruitment efforts.

South Park quickly hit back on social media, asking “Wait, so we ARE relevant?” — a reference to the White House calling the show “fourth rate” and “hanging on by a thread” following the season premiere. Yet, last week, Paramount boasted the episode brought in nearly six million cross-platform viewers and became the biggest linear season premiere share since 1999.
