2K and Hangar 13 have finally confirmed Mafia: The Old Country will have official PS5 Pro support when it launches this Friday.
The title’s social media account says the PS5 Pro will offer “higher dynamic resolution in both Quality and Performance modes”, VRR support, and 120Hz TV display support.
Up until now, the game’s trailers have stated they were captured from PS5 Pro hardware, but it was not very clear if the upgraded PS5 system was offering any actual benefits over the base PS5. Now we know what to expect on release day, 8th August.
On the base PS5, it was previously confirmed Performance Mode runs “at an average” of 60fps, suggesting there might be frame rate drops here and there. The PS5 Pro will presumably smooth all that out and increase the resolution, as the tweet states. The PS Store pre-order page now also carries a “PS5 Pro Enhanced”.
