Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star defensive lineman Deuce Geralds announced his commitment to LSU on Saturday during a ceremony in Atlanta.
The blue-chipper chose to play for head coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers over his other finalists in Oregon and Ole Miss. Michigan and Ohio State were two others he strongly considered during his process.
“With LSU it’s been my dream school growing up my whole life,” Geralds said. “I loved LSU since I was a little kid. It’s my hometown. I have family there. I just want to come back home and turn up Baton Rouge and the 225 and I want to be part of that.
“I’ve been wanting to be part of that since I was a little kid. To be part of it now is a blessing and dream come true.”
Ranked as the Rivals Industry’s No. 8 defensive lineman and No. 93 prospect overall, the 6-foot-1, 270-pound Geralds becomes commit No. 18 for LSU in the 2026 cycle, adding to a class previously ranked No. 8 nationally.
The people were impactful in Geralds choosing the Tigers
Frank Wilson was Geralds lead recruiter.
“LSU, Coach Frank I feel like he’s a philosopher the way he understands college football stuff down to every detail,” Geralds said. Future position coach Kyle Williams was also big in the process.
“Coach Kyle playing my position and the same circumstances and body type as me and the way he can develop me is different and he’s done it in the league for awhile. I feel he’ll be able to develop me different than these other colleges.
Geralds spoke highly of LSU earlier in the week.
“LSU that’s like family over there with Coach Frank,” Geralds said. “He recruited my dad to college. I was born in Baton Rouge. That was my dream school growing up. Then Coach Kyle being the same type of body type of me as a defensive tackle, him coaching me up would be amazing. He had a successful (13-year) career in the NFL. That would be great getting coached by someone that experienced and the same play-style as me.”
LSU putting together an elite defensive line haul
Geralds quickly put himself on the national radar as a freshman, registering 66 tackles, 17.5 stops for loss, 10.5 sacks and 15 more quarterback hurries. The next two seasons he was absolutely dominant, racking up 225 tackles, 60 stops for loss, 27 sacks and nearly 80 more quarterback hurries.
Geralds joins a class that includes five-star jumbo athlete Lamar Brown who will play on the defensive front and the nation’s No. 2 defensive lineman Richard Anderson. Also in the fold is the No. 6 edge Trenton Henderson. Geralds is the fourth Top100 player in the fold at the point of attack.
Geralds official visit to LSU to start the summer was also big.
“It was great,” Geralds said at the time. “I enjoyed it a lot.
“Really just the priority, how focused they are on me and my recruitment. I’m from Baton Rouge, I was born there, I have a lot of family there. The area around there, I’m real comfortable in that environment. I love the culture.”
