Samsung claims the enhanced hinge and display technology used in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 would last up to 500,000 times of folding and unfolding, while a Korean YouTuber is testing the durability live, targeting 200,000 times.
Samsung’s new foldable phone is breaking records in multiple markets. The thin and lightweight design backed by a big software advantage is pushing the sales. The device has already passed JerryRigEverything’s durability test.
Now, a YouTuber is testing the Galaxy Z Fold 7 screen and hinge reliability by folding and unfolding it 200,000 times live. As of the time of writing, the Korean YouTuber has exceeded the mark of 28,500 folding and unfolding counts.
It’s a little over 10% of what the reviewer aimed to test, but Samsung’s durability claim is 500,00, which is 2.5 times more than what the current test is ongoing. So far, there’s no screen or hinge problem emerged on the device being tested.
