SNK revealed Ken Master’s gameplay trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves just yesterday. As expected, he has a friendly rivalry going on with Terry Bogard in the trailer.
It would appear that Ken has some sort of special intro that plays when facing off against Terry as unique dialogue played out during the trailer. It turns out that this dialogue serves as a continuation for events that played out in Street Fighter 6.
Through happenstance, Terry, during his Street Fighter 6 arcade playthrough, runs into Ken while in Metro City. With the hopes of properly catching up, Terry challenges Ken to a spar.
Ultimately though, Terry ends up winning, but he expresses a little disappoint as it felt like Ken wasn’t fighting at his best. Of course, this was due to some of the events that had played out for Ken before the events of Street Fighter 6.
Eventually though, Terry is able to cheer Ken up a little bit. He even makes a promise to meet up again with Ken sometime in the future.
“Your flame hasn’t completely died out. Knowing you, you’ll rise from the ashes of whatever’s got a grip on you,” said Terry to Ken.
“I know, because we got the same fire burning inside of us, right? I don’t know what kind of trouble you got on your mind, and it’s really none of my business… But never forget that there’s someone that wants to give you the fight of a lifetime. Someone like me, y’know!?”
This actually prompts Ken up to stand at an equal footing with Terry.
“You haven’t changed, man. Knowing guys like you who just keep at it, without changing a thing… You’re a good guy,” responded Ken.
“Glad to hear it,” then said Terry. “So that means next time we meet, you’re going to bring the extra hot stuff, right?”
In a way, this actually felt like a promise that was being made to the fans by Capcom and SNK. This promise would seemingly be fulfilled with the announcement that Ken was slated to join Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as a DLC fighter.
“So, Ken, fire still burns, I hope,” begins Terry in the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves trailer.
“You bet!” Extra hot, just like we said,” responded Ken in reference to the aforementioned scene in Street Fighter 6.
