Cody Rhodes recently said he wants to face the real John Cena at SummerSlam, as opposed to this shitty bad guy version of John that’s been running around as WWE champion over the last few months.
Well, it looks like Rhodes is getting his wish. Cena kicked off tonight’s (Aug. 1) episode of SmackDown by thanking Cody for giving him the boot in the ass he needed to see the truth. Cena made a reference to The Rock by saying he was sold a lie from the very beginning by people who abandoned him. Everyone knows that John doesn’t actually want to ruin wrestling. The real John Cena is back, because the champ is here.

Cody welcomed babyface Cena back with a drink and didn’t get kicked in the dick, so there was no swerve. However, Wade Barrett wondered on commentary if John can really be trusted.
