‘Starfield’ And A New Expansion Heading To PS5 In 2026, Says Report

While once upon a time, Xbox seemed determined to keep a new first party IP like Starfield to itself, since there have been massive changes to its platform philosophy, it has felt like a matter of time until it ended up on PS5.

Well, that time may be coming.

According to a new report from MP1st, their sources say that Starfield will be coming to PS5 in the spring of 2026, and at the same time, will release a second expansion for all platforms, along with Quality of Life updates.

I would consider this more than just a random rumor, as MP1st has correctly reported on other Xbox stories ahead of the fact like the Oblivion Remastered and Persona 4 Remake reveals ahead of time. That would indicate Xbox sourcing that would in fact know something like this. Of course, nothing is a guarantee, and past that, existing plans can change.

Starfield has been a strange game. It was touted as having the most players for a Bethesda launch ever, but that was of course in part due to it being on Game Pass. Its Metacritic score of an 83 was well below most other Bethesda games. Its user scores were worse, and it is sometimes viewed by fans as a game they wish Bethesda hadn’t made instead of getting Elder Scrolls VI out five years sooner.
