Detroit Lions vs. Los Angeles Chargers, Thursday July 31

Canton, Ohio – The Detroit Lions couldn’t overcome early mistakes that turned into a quick 14-0 hole as they dropped their preseason opener to the Los Angles Chargers, 34-7, in the annual Hall of Fame Game.

Detroit fumbled the opening kickoff that led to a Chargers touchdown. Los Angeles scored again soon after following a Kyle Allen interception that was returned 60 yards to Detroit’s 6-yard line that turned into another touchdown on a second short field for the offense.

The Lions turned the ball over five times total in the contest and generated just 197 yards of total offense.

Detroit’s only points on the night came in the second quarter on a 3-yard Craig Reynolds touchdown run.
