System updates are still going out for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, and now version 20.3.0 is live. This firmware is rolling out for both systems now.
Keeping in line with most updates, more stability improvements have been implemented. At least at the moment, that’s all Nintendo is saying.

Nintendo Switch 2 / Switch update version 20.3.0 patch notes
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.
Version 20.2.0 only came out for both systems a couple of weeks ago. This also featured stability improvements, though there were a couple of bug fixes as well. You can catch up on those patch notes here.
One thing we’ll point out is that Nintendo’s patch notes aren’t always comprehensive. For example, with the previous firmware, we discovered that over 20 Nintendo Switch 1 games had been fixed on Switch 2 for backwards compatibility after installing the update. We have the full list here and we’ll let you know if anything similar is discovered with today’s patch.
Today’s update should download in the background for most users automatically. You’ll then be notified to restart your system to finish installation.
