Luke Bryan was hit in the face Sunday by a ball while he was performing on stage in North Dakota.
KFYR-TV has video of the country music star performing “Country Girl” when – in mid-song – he was struck in the face by what looked like a baseball.
It appears the shock of the moment didn’t deter the show from going on. He didn’t appear to address the incident during the performance.
The country music star is getting back into the swing of things after he revealed last week during a South Carolina concert he was getting over an illness.
“Three weeks ago I got COVID,” Bryan told the audience, who booed.
“You can boo that s–t all you want, but I got it,” he replied. “And I had to cancel some shows. And now I’m back.”
He may be back, but Bryan also admitted he isn’t where he needs to be.
“I am not 100 percent because it’s still kicking my ass,” he said. “And you know what, I don’t give a s–t. When I can sing, I’m gonna sing. When I can’t, y’all are gonna sing, alright?
“You’re gonna see me hack. I can’t take any more medicine. I can’t do anything else, but just try to breathe.”
Last month, Bryan said he was refunding fans their money during an Arkansas show.
At the time, he said the problem was the venue.
He followed that up with a social media post that a couple of his shows the next weekend had been rescheduled.
“Due to illness, my shows in Dallas and Lafayette this weekend have bene rescheduled to the following dates: 9/11: Lafayette, LA 9/12: Dallas, TX,” he posted. “Please hold on to your tickets — they will be honored for the new dates. Thank you for understanding.”
