Marvel’s Cosmic Universe expands with five new series spinning out of Hickman’s imperial • AIPT

At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Marvel pulled back the curtain on what’s next for its sprawling cosmic saga during the Next Big Thing panel. Following months of teasers, the publisher confirmed that Jonathan Hickman’s four-part event, Imperial, will launch a bold new era of space-faring Marvel stories, with five brand-new ongoing series set to debut this fall.

Unveiled by Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, executive editor Tom Brevoort, and writers Stephanie Phillips and Jed MacKay, the first wave of titles includes:

Each series is being seeded through the upcoming Imperial War one-shots and will start rolling out in November. First up is Planet She-Hulk, written by Stephanie Phillips with art by Aaron Kuder, followed by Nova: Centurion, penned by Jed MacKay with art by Álvaro López.

In Planet She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters finds herself stranded on Sakaar—yes, the same war-torn planet her cousin once ruled. But Jen’s not Bruce, and maintaining peace amid witches, rebels, and cannibals may take more than just muscle. As Phillips puts it, “Think Game of Thrones with gamma powers.”

Meanwhile, Nova: Centurion casts Richard Rider as a reluctant galactic mercenary. With the legacy of the Xandarian Worldmind hanging in the balance and corruption festering across the stars, Nova’s left to fight the good fight solo—at a price.

According to Brevoort, the new status quo unites major alien empires like the Kree, Shi’ar, and Skrulls into one massive, layered sci-fi epic: “It’s an all-out cosmic war… with Russian nesting dolls of revelation.”

Cover art for both debut issues—by Aaron Kuder and Alessandro Cappuccio—was also revealed, with full details on the other three series coming soon.

Prepare for liftoff: Marvel’s cosmic universe is about to explode.
