Killer of Killers’ New Cut Has Arnold Schwarzenegger: Comic-Con

At San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, Predator franchise filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg said that a new cut of the animated Hulu movie Predator: Killer of Killers is debuting tonight, and it has an epilogue scene showing the characters of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutch from the original 1987 movie and Danny Glover’s from Predator 2. There’s also a shot of Amber Midthunder’s Naru.

The epilogue was shown today at the Hall H panel for 20th Century Studios/Disney’s Predator: Badlands. In the scene, the predator warriors are carrying floating coffins of humans. The camera pans and we see housed in respective coffins the sleeping bodies of Naru, then Glover’s Lt Mike Harrigan.

Trachtenberg said he had breakfast with Arnie (“get to the waffles!” joked moderator Kevin Smith, quoting Arnie’s line from the first movie “Get to the choppa!”) and received his clearance to use his likeness and make that canon in the overall franchise.

Killer of Killers hit Hulu on June 6. Pic is an anthology story following three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. While all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers. Josh Wassung of animation company The Third Floor served as co-director of the project in addition to Trachtenberg.

Predator: Badlands hits theaters on November 7. Elle Fanning stars in a story said to examine an unlikely allyship between her character, Thia, and a young Predator.
