
Last month AMD detailed the Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series as the new Zen 5 Threadrippers. After the Threadripper PRO 9000WX Series debuted this week, AMD announced today that the Threadripper 9000 series will begin hitting retailers next week.
Threadripper 9000 series availability is set to start on next Thursday, 31 July.
AMD’s blog post today announcing the Threadripper 9000 series also confirmed the suggested launch price. The 24-core Threadripper 9960X is expected to go for $1499 USD, the 32-core Threadripper 9970X for $2499 USD, and the 64-core Threadripper 9980X for $4999 USD.
So far all of the AMD published benchmark numbers from the Threadripper 9000 series have been under Microsoft Windows 11. It will be very exciting to see how the Threadripper 9000 series performs under Linux, stay tuned. So far from the AMD Zen 5 line-up ranging from the Ryzen 9000 series to Strix Halo to EPYC 4005 and EPYC 9005 series has been terrific performance.
