The couple, who last attended the event in 2023, coordinated in stylish black tie looks. Middleton wore an emerald green velvet bodycon Talbot Runhof gown—a gown that echoed a look Princess Diana wore 38 years ago. She paired the gown with Manolo Blahnik pumps, Queen Elizabeth’s Greville Chandelier Diamond Earrings, Queen Mary’s Diamond Choker Bracelet by Cartier, and a Jenny Packham clutch. Meanwhile, William wore a simple, sleek black tuxedo complete with a bow tie.
During their appearance, the couple shared another brief public display affection when William placed his hand on Middleton’s back.

Middleton also reportedly made her first comments about her new lighter hair. As reported by The Daily Mail, actress Su Pollard spoke to the princess, telling her, “I like your hair. It looks a lot lighter.”
“It used to be brown, but it’s gone light in the sunshine,” Middleton reportedly replied.
The Royal Variety Performance is a yearly royal event in support of the Royal Variety Charity, which fundraises for the UK’s entertainment industry.
Middleton has had a busy week. A day before the Royal Variety Performance, she attended the Future Workforce Summit where she wore a Roland Mouret suit and a ruffled blouse and delivered her first speech in two years.
“I believe in restoring the dignity to the quiet, often invisible work of caring, of loving well, as we look to build a happier, healthier society,” she said, per People.
