CLEVELAND, Ohio — Browns running back Quinshon Judkins was arrested on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, according to Broward County arrest records. Judkins is facing a charge of battery and domestic violence.
A Browns spokesman says the team is aware and gathering more information.
The arrest record describes the charge as touch or strike/battery/domestic violence.
Cleveland.com has reached out to The Fort Lauderdale police department for more information.
The Browns selected Judkins No. 37 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft with the expectation he would take over as the team’s primary back this season. They also selected running back Dylan Sampson in the fourth round.
Judkins rushed for 1,060 yards and 14 touchdowns last season for Ohio State while splitting backfield time with TreVeyon Henderson. He transferred to the Buckeyes after two seasons at Ole Miss where he rushed for 2,725 yards and 31 touchdowns in 26 games.
Judkins is in line to replace Nick Chubb, who recently signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Texans.
Browns assistant GM Catherine Hickman praised Judkins when the team drafted him, comparing his style to Chubb’s.
“His physicality, his contact balance, the way he runs with strength is something I’ve seen in Nick as an example and those are things, and I’m not saying that this is Nick, Nick is just again, what Nick means to this organization is beyond words,” Hickman said. “But what I’m saying here is this style of play is just going to fit very nicely with what we’re trying to do.”
Aside from Judkins, the Browns currently have Sampson, Jerome Ford, Pierre Strong Jr. and Ahmani Marshall at running back.
Judkins is the only member of the team’s seven-man draft class who has not signed his rookie deal.
