Princess Kate donned a stunning black dress by Alessandra Rich, one of her go-to British designers who has been responsible for some of her best looks.
The timeless piece featured an exaggerated white collar, peplum style detail and the HMS Glasgow Brooch.
She also paid a touching tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II by wearing a glittering pair of pearl earrings once belonging to her, as well as a diamond pendant necklace.
The Princess attended the ceremony solo, as her husband, the Prince of Wales had only just returned to Britain a few hours earlier after a five-day visit to Brazil.
During the trip, William, 43, travelled to Rio de Janeiro and Belém, where he focused on environmental initiatives and delivered calls for global leaders to step up efforts to safeguard the planet.
Instead, she was joined by her eldest son, 12-year-old Prince George, the future King. The young royal has been slowly taking on more public duties, having attended a veterans’ tea party at Buckingham Palace in May to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
