Almost everyone who’s ever been anyone on Days of Our Lives is back for the soap’s 60th anniversary this month. To celebrate the opening of the Tom Horton Free Clinic, all of Salem is gathering for a gala celebration.
“People who have watched the show for a long, long time are going to be thrilled,” said veteran leading lady Deidre Hall (Marlena) during a visit to Today in October. “And people who are new to the show will start to understand more and more of the history.”
Among the former cast members returning for the special event is Alison Sweeney, whose Sami comes bearing a major announcement: She’s engaged to be married. Bet former husband EJ’s smile will be disappearing from his face in three, two…
Also on hand are Maree Cheatham (Marie), Stephen Schnetzer (Steve), Roark Critchlow (Mike) and Suzanne Rogers, who sadly will be off screen for a spell as she took time off to battle cancer. “The prayers and the good wishes from my friends and my family,” she told TV Insider, “helped me stay positive and stay on top of it and beat this.”
Though Lamon Archey (Eli) was photographed with Melissa Reeves (Jennifer), his character’s date for the extravaganza will actually be wife Lani; Sal Stowers’ Insta-story revealed that she’s back, too.
As you can see in the pic at the top of this article, not only is Chandler Massey back as Will, but so is Greg Vaughan as Eric. This may be his last visit to Salem for a while, too, as the Emmy winner has just landed a hush-hush role on Beyond the Gates. “Grateful for real executive leadership, talent collaboration and heart in this environment!” he Instagrammed of his new gig.
Among those repping for the Horton clan, after whose late patriarch the free clinic has been named, are not only Reeves but Bryan R. Dattilo (Lucas) and Critchlow. You can see a full Who’s Who of the family here.
