Native Community Center Comedy Pilot Not Going Forward At NBC

NBC has passed on its remaining comedy pilot, the Untitled Ornelas, Keliiaa and Wilson Project.

From the Rutherford Falls trio of Sierra Teller Ornelas, Jackie Kaliiaa and Bobby Wilson, the ensemble comedy revolves around the employees at a Native community center in Oakland, CA who hustle to keep the lights on while lifting up those in need.

NBC ordered three comedy pilot earlier this year. The other two, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe and executive produced by Tina Fey, and Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof’s Stumble, headlined by Jenn Lyon, both have been picked up to series.

The untitled Ornelas, Keliiaa and Wilson project was the last of the three to be ordered and the last to be delivered. As Deadline has reported, it generated less buzz than Reggie Dinkins and Stumble, which did well internally, including in testing and screenings. All three projects come from Universal Television.
