Singer-songwriter Halsey said she was treated at Massachusetts General Hospital for a “minor medical emergency” after performing to a sold-out crowd Sunday night at MGM Music Hall.
“Boston I’m gonna be honest with ya, after the show last night I was in the ER till 6 this morning,” the pop star said on Instagram Monday ahead of her second show at the Fenway venue. “Minor medical emergency but I am A-Okay now and ready to rock tonight! but if I’m pacing myself, that’s why!”
Halsey did not say why she had to seek medical treatment. The singer’s Monday show went on as planned, and her “Back To Badlands” tour is scheduled to continue Tuesday in Washington, D.C. with another sold-out show at The Anthem.
For more than a year, Halsey has balanced chronic health issues and her performance schedule, music publications have reported. In June 2024, she shared on social media that she had been receiving treatment for lupus and a T-cell disorder.
“Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life,” she said.
Monday on Instagram, Halsey held up two fingers flashing the peace sign and said she is “so so grateful” for several medical providers who treated her in the emergency room.
“Huge shoutout to Mass General and Dr Kian, Dr Victoria and my nurses Carolyn and Alicia for being the absolute best team I’ve ever met,” Halsey wrote. “And I second that with regard to the imaging staff, transport team, and patient relations!!!”
Last year, when Halsey released the emotional single “The End,” fans learned of her diagnoses, which include systemic lupus erythematosus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.
In a Sept. 25 TikTok, Halsey said she “just did another few sessions of chemo, had a new port placed.”
