Adam Cole not medically cleared for All In, TNT title vacated

Unexpected news from AEW president & head of creative Tony Khan, just hours before the main card of the company’s huge All In Texas PPV today (July 12) in Arlington’s Globe Life Field.

In a social media livestream, Khan announced that he can’t clear TNT champion Adam Cole for action. There were no specifics on why or how long he’ll be out, but it’s long enough that AEW is vacating the title. Khan said:

“I can not clear Adam Cole to go out there and wrestle today. I don’t feel good about it. I had a long talk with him, and I’m gonna ask Adam to take some time away to make sure he’s clear, but I do need to vacate the championship.”

Cole wrestled in a trios match on Thursday’s live Collision, and there were no obvious signs of trouble, nor were there reports of an injury after the show. If it is something that will keep Cole out long-term, it will be the second time in his AEW tenured he’s been sidelined. The first was the ankle break at Grand Slam 2023 that cost him more than a year and derailed his program with MJF.

To crown a new champion, TK has booked a 4-way for tonight’s show. Cole’s original challenger Kyle Fletcher is in the bout, as is the previous TNT champ, Daniel Garcia. The match will be rounded out by three-time TNT champion Sammy Guevara, and his ROH Tag title-holding partner Dustin Rhodes. Guevara & Rhodes, collectively known as The Sons of Texas, will also be in action on the pre-show with stablemates The Von Erichs, taking on Shane Taylor Promotions.
