After serving as the Tennessee Titans QB1 for the past two years, Will Levis’ season is now reportedly over before it even began.

With the team drafting Miami’s Cam Ward first overall this past April, Levis was expected to be the backup in Brian Callahan’s offense in 2025. But instead the 26-year-old has decided he’d be better served repairing his injured shoulder in an effort to be ready for next fall.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Levis’ surgery is scheduled for July 29. With no further details about what happened this offseason to lead the former second-round pick down this path.

“After consulting with doctors and his representatives, Will Levis has decided to undergo shoulder surgery that will sideline him for the entire 2025 season,” the Titans said in a statement Monday.
“We support his decision to focus on his long-term health. He approached the offseason with professionalism and showed clear growth as a leader. We remain confident in his full recovery.”

Levis dealt with a shoulder injury last season when he started 12 games with a 2-10 record, 2,091 passing yards and a 13:12 touchdown-interception ratio. And now the Titans will be forced to turn to Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle as backups (at least until they potentially sign someone else).

Tennessee reportedly owes Levis one more year of guaranteed salary after this season. Which begs the question is this the last we’ll see of Will Levis in a Titans uniform?
