The Seahawks made a pair of additions prior to the start of training camp, signing rookie cornerback Kam Alexander and nose tackle Justin Rogers on Monday.
Rookie cornerback Zy Alexander, who signed in May as an undrafted free agent out of LSU, was waived with a non-football injury designation.
Rogers, a seventh-round pick of the Cowboys last season, spent time on the Bengals practice squad and later was signed to Dallas’ 53-man roster, though he did not appear in a regular-season game. Rogers, who is 6-foot-3, 338-pounds, began his college career at Kentucky, transferred to Auburn for his final season, recording 17 tackles and a sack before declaring for the draft.
A Detroit native, Rogers was a standout four-year starter on offense and defense at Oak Park High and was ranked the No. 1 recruit in the state of Michigan.
Kam Alexander, who went undrafted out of Oregon, participated in rookie minicamp with the Seahawks and the Falcons. In his one season at Oregon, Alexander appeared in 12 games, recording four tackles and one interception. Prior to Oregon, the 5-foot-11, 183-pound Alexander played at UTSA in 2023, earning first All-AAC honors after recording two interceptions, 15 passes defensed, 34 tackles and one sack for the Roadrunners. He was also named defensive MVP of the Frisco Bowl following his team’s win over Marshall.
A football and track and field standout at Manvel High School in Manvel, Texas, Alexander began his college career at Sam Houston State before transferring to UTSA.
