Update []: Patch notes are now available for Black Myth: Wukong’s gargantuan performance enhancing patch, which weighs in at an outrageous 93.5GB.
Among the improvements are the following PS5 specific fixes:
- Adjusted Performance Mode back to 60Hz, reducing input latency and achieving higher resolution than before. However, the lighting quality level has been adjusted to enhance performance. The original Performance Mode is still retained and renamed “Performance Mode (Legacy)”. (PS5)
- Improved the game’s loading speed. (PS5)
- Improved the clarity of certain textures. (PS5)
You can find the full list of enhancements and fixes through here.
Original Story: Black Myth: Wukong, the acclaimed action game from Chinese dev Game Science, is getting a major update later today, 13th October, which will fix bugs and further optimise performance.
But you may need to prepare for the update, because it’s a big’un.
Here’s what the studio said on X (or Twitter):
“Due to differences in file storage methods, the patch on PS5 will require a relatively large amount of space (approximately 93.5GB). If the update cannot be completed due to insufficient storage or other reasons, you may continue playing the current version or try deleting the game and redownloading it.”
While coming highly recommended, Black Myth: Wukong has never been the smoothest of performers on the PS5, so we’re hopeful these improvements will help the game to run much better.
The patch will gradually roll out through the day, so if you’re planning to take advantage of the updates, consider clearing out some space now before it drops.
