‘Moto 360 (2025)’ leaks in new images [Gallery]

A new leak shows off a revived “Moto 360 (2025)” smartwatch that brings back the iconic name, but there’s no word on whether or not if runs on top of Wear OS.

According to Android Headlines, the “Moto 360 (2025)” is coming sometime this year, with the smartwatch implied to be made by Motorola itself rather than a third-party as was the case with the (ultimately failed) 2020 reboot.

This new generation features a round display with a stainless steel-looking chassis that features faux watch markings on the bezel around the face, much like Samsung does on its “Classic” releases. The report claims the watch will come in five colors. The new smartwatch is shown with a metal link band as well. As far as controls, it has a large crown towards the top of the right-hand side, with a second button down below. The top crown looks as though it would rotate for controls.

But, for now, those are the only firm details.

The report speculates that the watch might run Wear OS, but somewhat doubles back by citing that Motorola mainly uses its own RTOS on its smartwatches. The report goes on to say that “it” runs “Moto Watch OS,” but it’s unclear if that’s referring to prior releases like the Moto Watch Fit from earlier this year or this new Moto 360. There’s no firm evidence in the leaked images to imply whether this is Wear OS or not, as all smartwatch platforms look pretty much identical in the sense of their watch face.

For the time being, we’ll have to wait and see what Motorola has in store.
