A PlayStation Plus game will keep you busy for a good 200 hours, so there’ll be no touching grass for the foreseeable future.
Well, when I say that you won’t be touching glass for a while, especially if you become fully immersed in this PlayStation Plus offering, it does have tons of digital grass. That counts, right?
The PlayStation Plus subscription service offers plenty of bang for your buck, despite Sony continually hiking up its price once in a while. Each of the three tiers available offers games across multiple generations, free DLC, discounts and more.
For example, with the most basic tier, PlayStation Plus Essential, it offers the standard online access. However, some free-to-play games, such as Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, can be accessed without a subscription. PS Plus also offers a selection of new games each month, typically it tends to be three.
Then you have PlayStation Plus Extra, which includes everything from the Essential tier, but with hundreds of PS5 and PS4 games to play. That being said, unlike the PS Plus Essential games that will stay in your library with an active subscription, games in this tier (and Premium) come and go on a rotation basis.
Finally, the PlayStation Plus Premium tier offers everything included in the previous two tiers, but with additional retro games, trials, cloud streaming, a selection of movies and more.
That being said, with so many games on offer, it can be overwhelming to decide what to play next. Even more so if you’re after a single game that can keep you busy for an ungodly amount of hours. Thankfully, we can recommend one such game, especially if you like crafting games such as Minecraft.
The game in question is called Terraria, developed and published by the indie studio Re-Logic. Despite originally being released in 2011, Terraria has benefited from a wealth of content updates, not only making quality of life improvements but also adding new content to the game.
“The world is at your fingertips as you fight for survival, explore for fortune, and dig for glory,” reads the synopsis of Terraria. “Delve deep into cavernous expanses, test your mettle in combat, or construct your own city!”
According to the aggregate website, ‘How Long To Beat’, which gathers data from the community to provide an estimate of how long a game might last, if you’re a completionist, you can easily spend over 200 hours with Terraria.
Even if you don’t do every side objective, it will take about 50 hours just to beat the main story. So there’s little chance that you’ll be flying through Terraria in a single weekend.
Terraria is included in the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers. I’m also 99.9% sure it was included with PS Plus Essential at some point, so there’s a good chance it may already be in your library.
