PITTSBURGH — Now that the drama over the Browns’ backup QB is over … I can’t believe I wrote that sentence. That was a first in all my decades writing about the Browns. Anyway, Shedeur Sanders is backing up Dillon Gabriel. Here are scribbles in my notebook as the Browns play in Pittsburgh:

1. Before writing about this game, I wanted to look back at how Gabriel played vs. Minnesota. First, consider the Viking’ defense is excellent. They rank No. 5 in fewest points allowed (19.4) and No. 6 in yards allowed (290). They also are known for their confusing defenses.
