Trisha Paytas Will Star in Beetlejuice on Broadway
The social media influencer will appear for a limited run in the musical’s Broadway return.

Social media influencer Trisha Paytas will star as Maxine Dean in the Broadway return of Beetlejuice the Musical from November 4-November 23.
Playing Broadway’s Palace Theatre, Paytas will take over half of the track from Sharone Sayegh, who will continue to play the role of Juno through Paytas’s run and will return to the role of Maxine Dean/Juno November 25. The portion of the track that Paytas will be taking over is minor: Maxine Dean is the wife of Maxie Dean, the Chairman of Botco Industries who is invited for dinner by the Deetzes.
Paytas has spent her online life specializing in confessional-style video blogs, podcasts, and lifestyle content. Her open, bare-it-all style has regularly seen her under fire for statements critics have characterized as racist, antisemitic, homophobic, transphobic, and ableist, though Paytas has defended them as a promotional strategy. But despite (or perhaps because of) that messiness, Paytas has a devoted online following, including 1.9 million followers on Instagram, and 10.9 million on TikTok.
Beetlejuice the Musical began its third Broadway engagement, this time at the Palace Theatre, October 8. The Tim Burton-inspired musical returns to the Main Stem via its first national tour, which is closing after a three-year, 88-city run with a 13-week limited engagement at the Palace, through January 3, 2026.
The production stars Justin Collette as Beetlejuice, Isabella Esler as Lydia, Will Burton as Adam, Megan McGinnis as Barbara, Jenni Barber as Delia, Jesse Sharp as Charles, Madison Mosley as Lydia at select performances, Vanessa Aurora Sierra as Miss Argentina, Patrick Oliver Jones as Otho, Travis Mitchell as Maxie Dean, Sayegh as Maxine Dean/Juno, and Emilia Tagliani as Girl Scout.
The ensemble includes Sophie Aknin, Michael Biren, Ryan Breslin, Jonathan Bryant, Marc Ginsburg, Katie Griffith, Eric Anthony Johnson, Maya Kazzaz, Matthew Kurzyniec, Kenway Hon Wai K Kua, Mateo Melendez, and Lexie Dorsett Sharp.
Beetlejuice the Musical Reveals ’41 Days of October’ Fan Celebration
Adapted from the cult-favorite 1988 film by book writers Scott Brown (Castle Rock) and Anthony King (Broad City) and songwriter Eddie Perfect (King Kong), Beetlejuice premiered on Broadway in 2019, with direction by Tony winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!) and choreography by Connor Gallagher. The show earned eight 2019 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. The original run closed during the 2020 pandemic shutdown, but the show returned for a second go at the Marquis Theatre in 2022 before launching the national tour later the same year. International bows have played Tokyo, Seoul, and Melbourne.
