Here’s what time Detroit Tigers will play Mariners in Game 5 of ALDS after Yankees eliminated

DETROIT – First pitch for Game 5 of the ALDS between the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners is officially set.

With the New York Yankees being eliminated on Wednesday night by the Toronto Blue Jays, the Tigers and Mariners will move into the 8:08 p.m. slot on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025.

Since there’s only one series left on the schedule for Friday, there won’t be a 4:40 p.m. game. That bumped the Tigers and Mariners into primetime.

Detroit forced a Game 5 with a comeback victory on Wednesday night. After falling behind 3-0, the offense finally came alive, scoring nine unanswered runs to keep the season alive.

Tarik Skubal will take the ball for the Tigers, and the Mariners will counter with George Kirby. Both pitchers had strong first starts in this series — Skubal in Game 2 and Kirby in Game 1. They settled for no-decisions, and both of their teams ended up losing.

The winner will battle No. 1 seed Toronto in the best-of-seven ALCS.
