Portland Mayor Keith Wilson has rejected or sidestepped most items on a list of demands made by the federal government in an attempt to corral protesters around the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement facility in South Portland.
In a letter signed by Scott Bradford, who heads the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon, the federal government asked for the creation of a permanent “perimeter” around the ICE facility that would move protesters further away from the building into surrounding neighborhoods.
