‘The Lost Boys’ Musical Announces Broadway Cast, Sets Opening Date

The Broadway world premiere of the new musical The Lost Boys has set an April 26, 2026, opening date and a principal cast that will include Caissie Levy, LJ Benet, Ali Louis Bourzgui and Benjamin Pajak.

Previews begin Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Palace Theatre.

The announcement was made today by producers James Carpinello, Marcus Chait and Patrick Wilson. The Lost Boys marks the first collaboration of Broadway and film actors Carpinello, Chait and Wilson as producers.

The new musical, based on the 1987 Warner Bros. Pictures film, features a story by James Jeremias & Janice Roberta Fischer, direction by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Parade, Maybe Happy Ending), a book by David Hornsby (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia writer/EP) & Chris Hoch, music & lyrics by The Rescues.

Levy (Ragtime) will play Lucy Emerson, portrayed in the film by Dianne Wiest; Benet (the Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar) will be Michael Emerson (the Jason Patric role); Bourzgui (The Who’s Tommy) will play David (Kiefer Sutherland in the film); Pajak (Broadway’s The Music Man, Encores! Oliver!, the film The Life of Chuck) is Sam Emerson (the Corey Haim role); Maria Wirries (Dear Evan Hansen, Old Friends) as Star (played in the movie by Jamie Gertz)) and Paul Alexander Nolan (Water For Elephants, Parade, Slave Play) as Max (Edward Herrmann in the film).

Also in the cast are Jennifer Duka as Alan Frog; Miguel Gil (Kimberly Akimbo) in the Corey Feldman role of Edgar Frog; Brian Flores as Marko; Sean Grandillo as Dwayne; and Dean Maupin as Paul. Additional cast will be announced at a later date.

The 1987 horror-comedy, directed by Joel Schumacher and produced by Richard Donner, follows two teenage brothers who move with their divorced mother to the fictional town of Santa Carla, California, only to discover that the town is a haven for vampires.

The Broadway creative team will include Lauren Yalango-Grant & Christopher Cree Grant, choreography; Ethan Popp, music supervision; Popp & The Rescues, orchestrations & musical arrangements; and The Rescues, vocal arrangements. Scenic design is by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Ryan Park, lighting design by Jen Schriever and Michael Arden, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design by Dane Laffrey, and aerial design by Billy Mulholland and Gwyneth Larsen.

Devin Keudell will serve as Executive Producer.
