Amal Clooney Ditches Her Long Hair With Her Shortest Chop in Years

Amal Clooney has a dramatic new hair cut just in time for fall. Ditching her signature mermaid hair, the lawyer and wife of George Clooney, debuted a major hair transformation courtesy of hair stylist Dimitris Giannetos. “I cut off between six and eight inches of hair,” Giannetos told Vogue of the chop. “Amal has never had a haircut like this before.” It’s one of her shortest looks in years—but for Amal, that’s not exactly saying much.

In photos shared on Giannetos’s Instagram, her new look is still, clearly, very, very long. In fact, her new “bubble blowout,” as Giannetos calls it, still reaches down to her mid-chest. She wore her new look in a voluminous side-part, paired with a deep navy v-neck button-up tea dress.

Clooney also debuted a fresh color update, taking her hair a slightly darker shade of brown for fall, while she now sports slightly lighter highlights around her face in “toasted almond,” according to Giannetos.

Giannetos explained that the chop was a “power cut,” just in time for a major announcement for the Clooney Foundation for Justice. Amal is at the helm of a new worldwide hub that sees The Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice partnering with the Clooney Foundation in order to develop AI and new technologies in order to help women and girls access routes to justice more easily.

At this point, Amal’s long, thick glossy hair is practically the stuff of pop culture legend. How does she do it?
